New Swayback music video in the works
"Die Finks" to be released this fall as a vinyl single

While you were out in your backyard roasting weenies and drinking beer, The Swayback was spending its holiday weekend on more productive ends. Namely, that meant dragging the band, its gear, and directors Tyler Ford—who helmed the Hot IQs' "Houndstooth" video—and Robert Fraser into the upper and gloriously run-down stories of a derelict hotel on South Broadway. The band raced through live shots of a new tune, "Die Finks" (to be released this winter as a vinyl single), and then in deference to that long-standing rock tradition, pulled out some baseball bats and smashed shit up. That's just the first step for the vid, though. "We are going to do some projections of the footage we got cast on different textured surfaces and re-film the projections," singer-bassist Eric Halborg said. "I mentioned to the directors Stan Brakhage [a former University Of Colorado professor and experimental filmmaker] as a visual point of reference when we first talked about shooting this, so we are going to mix some performance and projections to get a textured and decayed aesthetic."
