NPR gives a shout-out to Fort Collins
If you were paying attention earlier this summer, The A.V. Club already urged you to cruise up the pike to Fort Collins to soak up the college town’s cornucopia of musical talent. If you’re the sort who needs to be told everything twice, NPR made the same case yesterday. The purveyors of mild-mannered radio caught up with organizers of the Fort Collins Music Experiment and discussed the college town’s staggering band-per-capita rate—and also the difficulty of selling out venues like Hodi’s Half Note or Road 34 in a town where a college football team in the throes of a 12-game losing streak routinely gets more attention than all the local bands combined. If you’re still planning your weekend, 4H Royalty plays Road 34 Friday and Paean graces Hodi’s stage Saturday. Just sayin’.
