Just Announced Pretty Lights illuminate fall tour schedule

Fort Collins’ electronic maestro hits the arenas

Pretty Lights, fall 2011 tour

In case you haven’t heard, Pretty Lights—that tiny electronic act from little ol’ Fort Collins—is kind of a big deal. After jet setting and doing the festival circuit for most of the summer, Derek Vincent Smith takes his hip-hop addled electronic tunes on the road for a proper tour that launches next month and runs through October. As Smith rolls through a slew of Pretty Lights solo shows, he’ll debut new tracks from an upcoming, yet-to-be-titled album, hitting such modest stops as the Austin City Limits Festival and Boston’s Bank Of America Pavilion. He’s also slated to tag-team a collaborative show with Bassnectar in mid-October in Alphraetta, Georgia. The bad news? There’s no Colorado show on tap for Pretty Lights. It looks like you hardcore Pretty Lights-heads will have to make the trek to a city that’s more big-time than Denver, like Albuquerque, New Mexico; Des Moines, Iowa; or Tulsa, Oklahoma.
