Primus to follow new album with tour this fall
For the first time in more than a decade, Primus isn’t merely resting on its laurels when it heads out on tour: Les Claypool and company will hit the road this fall to promote the group’s first album in 11 years, Green Naugahyde. It’s quite a change for the long-in-the-tooth alt-rock act, which has devoted most of its existence since reuniting in 2003—save a forgettable EP, Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People, packaged with a DVD—to paying tribute to Sailing The Seas Of Cheese and Frizzle Fry. Green Naugahyde hits stores Sept. 13, while Claypool and company kick off the tour in Boston Sept. 23 and wrap things up a month later in Los Angeles. Denver must have done something right in the Primusverse, since it gets a pair of back-to-back nights, while everyone else has to make do with but a single night of Primus.
