Rock out, help Haiti dig out
Astrophagus
More Just Announced
You can’t possibly still be unaware of the myriad ways to contribute a portion of your paycheck to relief efforts for this past Tuesday’s earthquake in Haiti, so ignorance isn’t what’s stopping you from doing it. Maybe you’re not into the whole “charitable giving” thing and expect a little return on your investment. Well, you selfish bastard, the Meadowlark is offering that up to you tomorrow: The club and every act on Saturday's bill—Astrophagus, Wire Faces, Megaphon, and Dugout Canoe—are turning over the entire door take to UNICEF to provide aid to children who were victims of the temblor. And because UNICEF pledged to cover administrative costs of the effort, you can rest assured every last penny you contribute is going to kids in need.
“The money will be in the hands of people and programs who can put it to use immediately,” Astrophagus’ Josh Cain said in an e-mail. “All the artists and the good folks at Meadowlark, including Jonathan Bitz, are extremely happy to donate our time, efforts, and music to this organization and the people of Haiti in these trying times.”
