The holiday season is a time for visiting loved ones, giving gifts to children, and getting drunk. Combine all three of those activities while sporting a white beard at Denver’s 10th Annual Santa Pub Crawl. On Saturday, Dec. 3, hordes of St. Nicks of every kind—young, old, jolly, surly, sexy, whatever—will descend upon LoDo to roam the streets in search of some drinks, a few prizes, or even a free ski-trip to Steamboat. All you need is a new toy to donate, a Santa costume, and a designated reindeer to drive you home.
The sign-up is at Fado Irish Pub from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Come dressed as Santa and bring one (or more) new, unwrapped toy to be donated to charity to and get a “Santa’s ID” punch card. After you’ve gone to all five spots and have had a merry ol’ time, turn in your card to enter the prize drawing. The winners of the ski trip, or any of the several other prizes donated by Budweiser—including an iPod tower, a mountain bike, a Burton snowboard, and an NFL mini-fridge—will be announced later on the event’s fan page.
If this year’s event is anything like previous Santa Crawls, then there will be plenty of sexy elves, some friendly naughtiness, and enough ho-ho-hos for everyone. Albin Ulle, one of the Santa Crawl’s founders, says the event collected 1,700 toys to donate last year, and he’s hoping to collect more than 2,000 this year. Due to the increasing amount of holiday cheer, event organizers devised five different routes to follow so Santas can hit every stop without getting stuck in a huge crowd.
