Just Announced Slayer/Megadeth American Carnage tour canceled through April

Sad news from the world of thrash metal: Because of upcoming back surgery for Slayer bassist-vocalist-headbanger extraordinaire Tom Araya, tour dates for the upcoming brutal-sounding Slayer/Megadeth American Carnage and Canadian Carnage tours have been postponed, including the Jan. 25 date at Magness Arena and the subsequent European tour. According to a release, Araya has been suffering from a cervical radiculopathy (we smell an album title!) since touring last October and opted to fix the problem now rather than aggravating the injury while rocking out to, say, "Evil Has No Boundaries." Ticketholders are asked to sit tight as promoters scramble to reschedule new dates. The canceled shows are:
