Do you like sitting on your ass for long periods of time in a dark room with a bunch of strangers? Say hello to festival season at the Starz FilmCenter: The Bicycle Film Festival rolls through the indie multiplex this weekend, and that’s just the start of it. The Denver Film Society, which runs the FilmCenter, just posted the full schedule for the 32nd annual Starz Denver Film Festival. The 10-day cinema overload starts on Nov. 12, and features more than 200 screenings, plus workshops, panels, red carpet parties, award ceremonies, and Ed Harris. (The Society is presenting him with this year’s Mayor’s Career Achievement Award.) Hal Holbrook—yes, he’s still alive—will also be around accepting his own achievement award; there will surely be a long list of Hollywood up-and-comers—actors, directors, and the like—to mingle with as well. Tickets and festival passes go on sale to the public this Friday, Oct. 30. See you at the movies.
