Music Notes Tennis makes a video about sailing, Pictureplane talks to Vice, and more

Tennis, Denver, band, Rolling Stone, rollingstone.com Oh, look. It's Tennis on a boat. Weird.

Our music scene is a busy place with lots happening. If you don’t obsessively visit the local blogs, alt-weeklies, and other outlets, you could miss something important! That’s okay—we’re here to help with a weekly roundup of some of the more enticing news happening around town.

Noisey—an online product of the reviled/venerated Vice magazine—recently posted a five-part video interview with Pictureplane, in which he talks up tourmates Teengirl Fantasy, the scene in Denver, and how “you can’t boo a Pomeranian, man.”

• Beach bums Tennis premièred a new video for the track “Take Me Somewhere” on RollingStone.com this week. The footage is comprised entirely of—what else?—warm sunbursts and wistful ocean scenery.

• Los Angeles-based director Eric Heights has been keeping busy Mile High style the last couple of weeks, posting a new track by rapper Deca (featuring Yonnas Abraham of Denver’s The Pirate Signal) and uploading a sneak peak of the upcoming DJ Chonz video.

• Mario Zoots of Modern Witch got a little bit of digital ink today on the Modern Bohemian blog for an upcoming art opening in Colorado Springs. The group show, titled Mountain Standard, features local artists including Justin Beard, Sterling Crispin, Harry C. Walters, among others.

• As if the city didn’t already have enough outdoor music festivals already, the Englewood Eats & Beats was announced this week. The one-day event goes down June 25 on south, South Broadway and includes headliner singer-songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff.
