The Bronx - screaming + maracas = Mariachi El Bronx
More Just Announced
It was a dry week for show announcements, signaling the beginning of the nationwide band hibernation and tour hiatus season. Luckily a calm winter usually means heaps of new releases come spring—unless you're L.A. rioters The Bronx, who released its latest album just last month under the alias Mariachi El Bronx. The band's alter-ego is an acoustic outfit, so fans of the band's traditional face punch may be taken off guard, but luckily, both "bands" announced dates for Colorado in October. Too bad Casa Bonita isn't an actual venue, because hearing Mariachi El Bronx sing "Happy Birthday" while wandering Denver's Mexican village in a strip mall would rule.
This week's most recent show announcements:
Oct. 9, Butthole Surfers, Ogden Theatre
Oct. 23, Lion Sized, Larimer Lounge
Oct. 29, The Bronx + Mariachi El Bronx, The Black Sheep
Oct. 31, The Bronx, Bluebird Theater
Nov. 7, Perpetual Groove, Gothic Theatre
Nov. 8, Dirty Projectors, Bluebird Theater
Nov. 10, The Whigs, Bluebird Theater
Nov. 14, P.O.S., Gothic Theatre
Nov. 29, Baroness + Earthless, Bluebird Theater
And the weekly vid pick: The Bronx as Mariachi El Bronx.
