The egos land: U2 takes an expensive, LED covered dump in Colorado
Man, we miss these guys.
More Just Announced
U2 is back with yet another monstrosity of a tour, all 360 degrees of one. According to the band’s press release, this year’s showcase of excess will include a “cylindrical video system of interlocking LED panels, and a steel structure rising 150 feet from the floor over a massive stage with rotating bridges.” We’re assuming all of this hoopla is in an effort to cover up the fact that U2 hasn’t put out a decent album since 1993’s Zooropa, and even that record wasn't the band's best. Plus, with tickets topping out at $250, something just doesn't feel right. The recession may be an after thought for Coloradans, but $250 is a car payment, a month's worth of groceries, or if you were to donate five bucks a piece, 50 shows at Rhinoceropolis.
