Vitamins barbecue Sunday kicks off Larimer Lounge Summer BBQ Series

Nothing says summer like bands, booze, and bratwurst outdoors, and the Larimer Lounge’s Summer BBQ Series has all three. The series is kicking off this Sunday with Vitamins, Hindershot, Hearts In Space, and more, with subsequent Sunday afternoons each getting their own barbecues featuring a huge number of local groups performing throughout the day. Add the smoky deliciousness of Biker Jim’s Gourmet Dogs to the music, and you’ve got yourself a day’s worth of awesome.

“There’s not a better way to spend your Sunday than having fun and seeing a dozen or so bands. It’s a whole daylong ordeal, and there’s no excuse not to come see 10 great bands,” says Byron Vall, the Larimer Lounge’s general manager.

Every week is packed with local flavor, including weeks headlined by Git Some, Houses, and Slim Cessna’s Auto Club, among many others.

“We have been going to Auto Club shows for years and have always wanted an ‘in’ to that group of bands that define the Denver Sound,” says David Thomas Bailey of FaceMan, who will round out the Cessna’s barbecue lineup along with A. Tom Collins, The Widow’s Bane, and four other acts. “We’re excited to share the bill with such an important band,” he adds. The Larimer Lounge lists the full barbecue show schedule and lineups online.
