Andrew McMahon at Swallow Hill Music Association
Andrew McMahon is best known as the frontman for California pop-punk band Something Corporate and, more recently, the similar but more piano-driven Jack's Mannequin, which has become his primary creative vehicle after Something Corporate went on hiatus in 2004. In 2005, McMahon was diagnosed with leukemia just as Jack's Mannequin released its debut, Everything In Transit; he later recovered, but the group's 2008 record, The Glass Passenger, was understandably more introspective and somber after what he'd gone through. McMahon's out now on a solo tour before the release of a documentary DVD called Dear Jack that chronicles his illness and recovery.
