Legends from back in a day when art-rock went wild and swung big, The B-52’s came up in Athens, Ga., moved to New York, and thereafter commenced living on a planet much cooler and campier than Earth. Sixteen years passed since the band put out an original album before Funplex came out last year, but The B-52’s songbook has never hurt for hits. Funplex is big on ’80s-style drum machines and synths meshed with modern dance-rock moves, in ways both good and bad.
