Cold, Nonpoint, Day Of Fire, and 16 Second Stare at Marquis Theater
The "Christian rock" label tends to lurk behind certain bands' backs like an unseemly whispered rumor, especially when they're as thoroughly suited to rock-radio as Day Of Fire. Leader Josh Brown's spirituality (which he discovered after a near-fatal heroin overdose during his time in the band Full Devil Jacket) is actually a plus, lending a sense of affirmation and clarity as the band milks the long-beyond-trite rock formula that's dominated the FM dial in the wake of grunge and nü metal. A little conviction served the band well on 2006's Cut And Move, but expect to hear lots of new songs at this show, which falls just before the release of a new album, Losing All.
