Control at Bender's Tavern
The Business formed in 1979, broke up and regrouped several times with different members throughout the ’80s, came back together again in 1992, and has since continued under the helm of vocalist and only constant member Micky Fitz. The group has stayed the course of working-class punk rock through the decades, in near complete denial of musical trends and fluctuating fan bases. Heavily influenced by such early Oi! acts as The 4-Skins and Sham 69, The Business has become a pre-eminent name in a relatively obscure subgenre through stubborn constancy and never-say-die anthemic songwriting. The band hasn’t put out a studio album since 2003’s Hardcore Hooligan, although it did release the Mean Girl EP in 2008—signaling perhaps a new full-length in the works?
