CunninLynguists, Grieves, Looptroop Rockers, and Tunji at Aggie Theater

Perpetually on the road tending their grass roots, Kentucky’s CunninLynguists are the embodiment of the hard-working hip-hop group. Producer Kno and MCs Deacon The Villain and Natti followed up the slinky funk of 2007's Dirty Acres with the two-volume Strange Journey this year; the mixtape-styled set takes a road trip through the group's native South, with the newly released second installment offering a darker and more sober vision of the world outside the tour bus window. Not that those gathering storm clouds will rain on the group's live parade—it's still called CunninLynguists, after all. It's just that some things their tongues encounter are heftier than others.
