Eddie Robinson (Book Signing) at Tattered Cover Book Store (City Park)
While some may question comparing football coach Eddie Robinson to Martin Luther King Jr., it is worth exploring Robinson’s impact on the national civil rights movement. Denny Dressman, who spent 25 years working at the Rocky Mountain News, presents Eddie Robinson, the first biography on the legendary coach since his death in 2007. Robinson spent 56 years building a powerhouse program at Grambling State University, opening the NFL doors to players from historically black schools. He became one of the first to infuse racial diversity into college football leadership, a glaring problem that continues to hamper university sidelines.
