Eyehategod, Cephalic Carnage, Catheter, and Git Some at Marquis Theater
Eyehategod—all bluesy, dropped-tuned riffs and deeply morose, drug-addled lyrics—is one of the more sought-after bands among its New Orleans metal brethren. Although the corrosive, uncompromising sludge band (now in its 21st year) has been somewhat dormant in the wake of singer Mike Williams’ 2005 arrest for heroin possession—not that inactivity has ever really affected the act’s fan base. Eyehategod has never been known for massive output—to date the band has only released four studio albums—and internal disputes and shaky personal lives have lead to various hiatuses from both writing and touring. But in a sick sort of way, that’s part of the entire appeal.
