Grand Archives, Hello Kavita, and Science Partner at Larimer Lounge
Grand Archives is the project of ex-Band Of Horses guitarist Mat Brooke, which would be incidental if the two bands didn’t share a very particular affinity for Neil Young. Unlike Brooke’s old outfit, however, Grand Archives favors a swirling, gauzy folk of a sort that goes quite well with huffed harmonica and pedal-steel swoon. Grand Archives' second album, Keep In Mind Frankenstein, keeps things low-key, but comes scattered with moments of aching beauty.
