GWAR, Job For A Cowboy, and The Red Chord at Gothic Theatre

Twenty-five years of costumed theatrics, fake bodily fluids, and mediocre metal is nothing to sneeze at—unless, of course, you’re GWAR, in which case you’ve likely got a line of white-T-shirt-wearing super-fans in the front row hoping to be covered in viscous layers of snot and sputum. Like a drama-club fantasy gone unchecked, GWAR has reveled in the geeky and macabre for a quarter century—a milestone the band recently marked with the release of its 11th studio album, Lust In Space. Appropriately enough, the anniversary album debuted at number 96 on the Billboard Top 200 chart—the highest GWAR has ever charted. In celebration of this achievement, lead singer Oderus Urungus claims to have “vomited on Lindsay Lohan’s puss, visited the Obama girls, and sodomized Carrot-Top.” Sounds delightful!
