GWAR, Municipal Waste, Ghoul, and Legacy Of Disorder at Fox Theatre
Over 25 years of costumed theatrics, fake bodily fluids, and elaborate sci-fi-themed metal is nothing to sneeze at—unless, of course, you’re GWAR, in which case you’ve likely got a line of super-fans in the front row hoping to be covered in viscous layers of snot and sputum. Like a drama-club fantasy gone unchecked, GWAR celebrated a quarter century of revelry in the geeky and macabre in 2009 with the release of its 11th studio album, Lust In Space. Sadly, guitarist Cory Smoot, who portrayed Flattus Maximus, was found dead on the tour bus in 2011. As he would want and in his honor, the band is carrying on with touring and is in the early stages of putting together a new album.
