Jeffrey Ross at Comedy Works (Greenwood Village)
Being a smash-mouth insult comic has prevented Jeffrey Ross from landing a sitcom or talk show; yet loved and loathed (or unnoticed) as he is, Ross has been allotted frequent appearances in film and late-night TV spots. As the current New York Friars’ Club “Roastmaster General,” the odds are infinitely against him as he lobs quips like, “How is it possible that Courtney Love looks worse than Kurt Cobain?” Yet it takes balls, especially when saying it to her face at 2005’s Comedy Central Roast of Pam Anderson. In addition to taping his first stand-up special, Jeffrey Ross: No Offense, in 2008, Ross also had the honor of being the first celebrity eliminated from the seventh season of Dancing With The Stars, receiving a scratched cornea for his trouble.
