Long before “Throw It In The Bag” taught ladies how to shop with a heavy hand, Fabolous was one of DJ Clue’s disciples, rapping on the New Yorker’s infamous Hot 97 radio show and various mix-tapes. Since then, Fabo has put out five studio albums and found a comfortable home for his casual swagger on Def Jam, taking obvious stylistic nods from fellow Bedford-Stuyesvant/Brooklyn native Jay-Z. Tourmate Twista has been cramming multitudes of words into tiny spaces since 1992, but it wasn’t until 2004’s Kamikaze delivered the Jamie Foxx/Kanye West collaboration “Slow Jamz” that the rhyme-sayer finally garnered national attention. His eighth studio album, 2009’s Category F5, reunited the split-second rapper with West, and includes contributions from R. Kelly and Lil Boosie.
