Whether Magic Cyclops is singing original tracks about teen pregnancy and unicorns over a synthesizer or dropping his favorite ’80s hits on dance floors across the Great Plains, the one-man act does it all with stadium-sized attitude and a sort-of convincing fake British accent. The Denver native (though he claims Iowan pride) is a white-trash renaissance man: On top of performing and DJing, Cyclops is also an accomplished air guitar competitor and is rarely caught onstage without his trademark sunglasses and Hulk Hogan-style headband. His recent appearance on American Idol seems to have given him new life both locally and beyond, so expect to see more of Cyclops in the months to come.
