Like other MySpace tales of musical success, Never Shout Never found a built-in audience within the wide world of social networking way back in 2005. Although backed these days by a full band for live shows, Never Shout Never’s core is still just Christofer Drew, an unassuming, swoopy-haired kid from Missouri. Following up a handful of self-released early EPs, this year’s What Is Love? is his first for Warner Brothers, though not much has changed otherwise: Drew’s sugary twee songs remain ukulele-happy and centered on loving girls and the earth equally.
