OK Go, Earl Greyhound, and The Booze at Bluebird Theater
There’s more to OK Go than what everyone probably remembers it for: The highly choreographed 2006 video for “Here It Goes Again,” which featured the quirky dance-rock band impressively jumping from treadmill to treadmill. The band has since then left its Chicago home for the sunnier pastures of L.A., and though it hasn’t exactly exploded with mainstream success, it at least has maintained the same presence in the collective consciousness with its increasingly audacious (and extremely viral) music videos. Which, incidentally, have also proven to be deal-breakers for the band: OK Go recently left EMI to pursue its own imprint, and though both sides reported an amicable departure, the band’s public discontent with the major label’s attempt to block online embedding of its videos says otherwise.
