Polka Dot Dot Dot, Ian Cooke, and Littles Paia at Hi-Dive
Polka Dot Dot Dot’s formation seems all too fitting for the folk trio’s sound: Originally from Olympia, Wash., it wasn’t until the three musicians found themselves wandering around Auckland, New Zealand, in 2007 that they decided to make music together. Incorporating banjos, harps, handclaps, and numerous other instruments with forest hymns and old-time singsongs, the cutely named Jordan O’ Jordan, Onyx Of Olympia, and Twig Palace create non-traditional folk with a tribal twist.
