Psychostick, Mower, and Audioflux at Marquis Theater
For those who already hear slobbering stupidity in nü-metal, rap-metal, and other sounds in corporate radio’s death-cloud, Arizona’s Psychostick gets straight to it. Taking a cue from the silly, forced weightiness of bands raised on Korn and Drowning Pool, Psychostick faithfully keeps the chugga-chugga guitars and howl-of-the-teenage-damned vocals, but writes deliberately dumb lyrics about booze, genitals, and other crude subject matter. The band’s 2006 album We Couldn’t Think Of A Title and 2007’s yuletide-themed release The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride earned it a mocking-loving fan base sure to “appreciate” the follow-up full-length Sandwich.
