Puerto Rico-born DJ Robbie Rivera began collecting records at age 10, and by high school, when his fascination with house music began, he was working the other side of the turntables. The young Rivera also stepped into the role of producer, creating his own original tracks using a drum machine and reel-to-reel recordings. Technology has since advanced, though Rivera’s sound is still a classic blend of the clean beats and diva hooks that saturate purist house music.
