The Show Is The Rainbow, Dome Cube, The Carnivores, and Spellcaster's Rock 'n' Roll Time Travel Committee at Rhinoceropolis
As Nebraskan bedroom recording novelty The Show Is The Rainbow, Darren Keen began creating screamy raps in defiance of the burgeoning indie-rock Omaha scene in the early 2000s. Moving quickly from suburban obscurity to playing shows with artists like The Locust and Dan Deacon, the one-man act took his snarky vocals and Rapture-esque funk around the world. Eternally fighting against local monster/label Saddle Creek, Keen describes The Show Is The Rainbow’s musical influence to come from a “desire to out-Faint The Faint.”
