Sound Tribe Sector 9 at Wells Fargo Theatre at Colorado Convention Center
Sound Tribe Sector 9—STS9 for short—got its start down in Georgia, but the band picked up steam when it moved to California in the early 2000s. Thanks in part to its lengthy, energetic live shows and a never-ending tour schedule, the electro-jam hybrid has amassed an impressive fan base. Peaceblaster, the act’s 2008 effort, is accompanied by an informational website (peaceblaster.com) with a progressive bent that falls in line with STS9’s politics, which remains dedicated to non-profit work: Proceeds from the 2009 album Peaceblaster: The New Orleans Make It Right Remixes are being donated to the continuing rehabilitation of a post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans. A newer album, Ad Explorata, continues the STS9’s worldly love and electric trippiness.
