In spite of Snooze’s sleepy name, eating there is like getting the covers yanked off your bed and a shot of fine espresso shoved in your mouth. The place is jumping on weekend mornings, with hungry brunchers lurking on the sidewalk, waiting for a table in the sunny, ’50s-retro dining room. The abbreviated menu makes ordering uncomplicated, and it’s hard to make a misstep. Big ol’ pancakes, egg dishes, and breakfast burritos and tacos are pretty much the extent, except for a couple of light choices like granola parfait. Weekends are Snooze’s time to rise and shine—it opens at 1 a.m. Saturday and Sunday morning to cater to the stumbling drunks. During the week, it’s also open for lunch, with space-fillers like burgers, sandwiches, salads, and the like.
