The original St. Mark’s location on 14th and Market was an island of coolness while downtown Denver was in the frantic transition from wasteland to cosmopolis. Exiled by rising rents to the City Park West neighborhood a few years ago, St. Mark’s Mark Two has grown into a vital social hub full of bustle and soul. The coffee itself isn’t the best, but that doesn’t stop it from flying out the place by the bucket. The solid selection of grilled sandwiches, soups (including a great summer gazpacho), and homemade pastries is the real treat, as is the shady sidewalk patio and instant access to St. Mark’s sister bar, The Thin Man.
