The Wrap reports that Electronic Arts is developing a sports comedy based on the so-called “Madden Curse,” the legendary hex alleged to befall any NFL player who appears on the cover of the Madden line of video games. Acoording to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount has expressed interest in producing Hughes’ Grisbys Go Broke, about a wealthy Chicago family that loses its riches and is forced to move to the boonies. The studio says they would hope to make it into a family comedy, with Alice In Wonderland producer Joe Roth attached.
Hughes and Paramount’s professional relationship produced some of the filmmaker’s most admired 1980s films, such as Pretty In Pink, Planes ...

Our friends at the National Confectioners Association—the wonderful souls behind the annual All Candy Expo—and their Candy Dish blog are giving away a whopping 10 pounds of Halloween candy in time for the industry's favorite holiday.
