In honor of one of the most reviled occasions, Valentine's Day, The A.V. Club thought it appropriate to give you some alternative date ideas to celebrate—or lament—as you feel fit.

For a cheeky evening, the White Rabbit Cabaret never disappoints. "Getting Lucky with Lucky Deluxe"—"a stand-up show from a lay-down lady"—offers a risqué blend of humor and tease.

For all the single ladies who don't mind their current status, perhaps a girls' night in is fitting. Drink margaritas, respond to creepy Craigslist posts under pseudonyms, and watch bad, but fitting, movies, like Valentine's Day or I Hate Valentine's Day. For the single ladies who wouldn't mind a hook up, head out to the Pacers game—or at least the surrounding bars before or after the game. Single men? Perhaps the Pacers game would work either way.

Others of you certainly have more of a hot and steamy evening in mind. You can have exactly that—with a side of fries—at White Castle's Valentine's Day event, because nothing says "I love you" quite like a plate of sliders. The romantic festivities run from 5 to 8 p.m. and include tablecloths, flowers, a special dessert—cheesecake on a stick—and table service. To partake in all the Harold and Kumarian glory, call 317-269-4590 to make reservations.

For those of you who would rather celebrate your hatred of VD, join together at The Melody Inn's annual Goth/Industrial Anti-Valentine's Day Party. This year, it's called The Bloody Valentine, and you're encouraged to wear bloody attire or dress as your favorite femme fatale. Apparently they hate the day so much, they prefer to just get it over with; the DJ-hosted party is on Feb. 12.

So, what are YOU planning to do on the big VD? Please share your ideas so everyone else can point and giggle.
