More Just Announced

This time of year, most everything in entertainment seems to slow down a bit, except for people who have to scramble and start booking up shows for the late winter and spring. This morning alone, at least five new show annonuncements hit The A.V. Club's inbox, so we might as well go ahead and update you A-fuckin'-SAP. To find the shows you'll care about most, just look out for the bolded text.

For those who like to be insulted by the person onstage, self-proclaimed "queen of mean" Lisa Lampanelli brings her patented barrage of slams 'n' slurs to Overture Hall on Feb. 19. For those who've packed the Orpheum for Ween's last couple of shows in town, member Gene Ween will play a solo show on Thursday, Feb., 11 at the High Noon Saloon. For those with an ineffable urge to stick any two things together that haven't been stuck together before, Chicago remix-hybrid-machine The Hood Internet will play the High Noon on Saturday, Jan. 23. For those who like their music pretty but not passive, Laura Veirs is down for a Feb. 28 show at The Frequency, and the more rocking Foreign Born play there March 4 with Free Energy. For those who like comedy with heft (sorry), Last Comic Standing breakout Ralphie Mays plays the Barrymore on Feb. 28. And finally, for those who can stand such things, Three Days Grace plays the Alliant Energy Center on Jan. 18, with some slightly redeeming help from Breaking Benjamin and Flyleaf. For now, though, we should probably just leave the sniping to Lampanelli, because if modern-rock stars' careers pan out, they'll have this to look forward to:
