Animal Collective’s Avey Tare told Pitchfork last year that he didn’t have any plans to tour behind his 2010 solo album Down There, expressing no desire to revisit the dark place it represents for him. Something must have changed his mind, or maybe he’s just totally omitting that album’s waterlogged beats and murky hooks from his sets when he heads out on a short U.S. tour starting in late November. Whatever he decides to do on tour, he’ll definitely be in a dark place if he keeps that crocodile mask on through the whole show. See the dates below:
