Ballot Blasters: The change we need
Decider's 2008 local music platform

Michael Sienkowski hits Main Street to invite the public's derision.
Need a little help getting motivated to trudge out to the polling place on Nov. 4? Decider has weighed the issues and scoured some of 2008’s finer local music for inspiration.
Maybe 2008 will go down as the year Barack Obama crapped sunshine all over a hurting country. It’s also a year America found itself slammed with economic unrest, dragged-out wars, and the foul pettiness of election campaigns, all with lousy ol’ George W. Bush still in office. Still, the elected officials, PR flaks, and pundits can’t seem to find the words to admit to anything but wanting the best for all us proles. Michael Sienkowski, the songwriter behind Whatfor, writes an apology and confession for them on “I’m A Bummer”: “I’m a bummer, and I know it. In a slump, I’m a chump, not a gent.”
