Don't let politics get between your face and your brat.

The people’s resistance to what sure as hell looks like a corporate takeover of Wisconsin shows yet another aspect with a new brat festival called Wurst Times. Now, diehards who love the other Brat Fest but feel queasy knowing the vendor is Johnsonville Brats—known Scott Walker campaign contributor—can pig out with a clear conscience.
Wurst Times will be held Saturday, May 28 at Reindahl Park from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The organizers are busy sourcing bands and brats (including a veggie version), hoping to mix groovy music with Union-centric activism. At eleven hours, this has the potential to be an epic party/rally.
Jodi Kitts, spokesperson: “Given the current political climate in Madison and the fact that Brat Fest has major sponsors who gave substantial money to Gov. Walker, we decided we should offer an alternative. We have union support: AFSCME, IATSE, PAAC, SCFL.” Kitts asks that attendees bring one canned food item per person, for Second Harvest food bank.
