Corcovado and Land Of Vandals slow things down for tonight's Local Band Series at the Terrace

Leave your dancing shoes at home and bury your head in a billowing cloud of heartache and well-placed melodica when Land Of Vandals and Corcovado play tonight’s third installment of The A.V. Club’s Local Band Series at the Terrace. Land Of Vandals provides melancholy of the plugged-in variety to go with Jentri Colello’s breathy sighs. Formerly known as Flight, and Flatbear before that, the name changes haven’t had much effect on the consistency of the band’s shuddering slowcore approach. Things will lighten up considerably when the crowd hears Corcovado’s lightly strummed tunes, some of which (hopefully) come from this year’s fine Heliotrope. Get there at 8 p.m. and thank someone from WUD Music for setting up the whole thing, along with all of the other great shows (for free), to make drinking (without having to tip!) at the Terrace so damned enjoyable.
