Cribshitter and Butt Funnel energize and/or terrorize Local Band Wednesdays

So one summer, let's say about a year ago, some students who book music at a local university took a local publication up on its idea to host a series of local bands. The bands would play on pleasant summer evenings at a nice place by a lake where people liked to sit and socialize. These people often didn't even know there would be bands on those nights, and sometimes they were pleasantly surprised. Other times, they didn't know what to make of the more abrasive acts; one called The Arge even proudly uploaded a MySpace photo of an older couple who clearly weren't digging it.

Decider must admit it perversely hopes to see some confused, uncomfortable, and downright appalled reactions when Cribshitter and Butt Funnel play Local Band Wednesdays' next installment tonight, though both bands have picked up people along the way who will come out to actually enjoy their warped antics. Butt Funnel may be a band in which some actually very talented guys assume the personas of kinky Germans and sing of such subjects as "Bigfoot" and "Temporary Wienerhousen." They also harness the danceable pleasures of everything from goofy pop-metal to cheesy electronic music. Plus, they actually seem to enjoy blasting out these tunes, considering they put out both an album and an EP of them last year. We also know they can dress up and play the part live; we once caught them by accident a few years ago at a now-closed sketch-pit called The Klinic (and really, if you can freak people out there, you can freak people out anywhere else in town), and later tried to interview two of the members in-character. They kept the act up until the tape recorder was off, and gave such thoroughly ridiculous and hysterical responses that we could never exactly bring ourselves to publish the piece.

As for the details on Cribshitter, why don't we let them explain for themselves?
