Cribshitter’s Methlehem cooks up in a manger and stashes it in a Bible
Unholy hilarity.

Just in time for the holiday season, Cribshitter’s new album, Methlehem, was packing a double dose of sacrilege when it showed up in The A.V. Club’s mailbox. First, the cover depicts a peaceful Nativity scene, only, instead of bearing gifts, the three wise men are in the back of the manger cooking up some Magi-grade stuff. Second, the album came accompanied by a Holy Bible with a space cut out of the pages so a small bag of (fake?) meth could be hidden inside. It’s enough to make baby Jesus cry.
As for the music, the humongous, 29-track album is reminiscent of Ween because it’s all a goof but, clearly, a lot of thought was put into the songs and making them actually enjoyable, rather than just vehicles for jokes. Check out the video for “Boom Goes The Vaginamite” below, pick up the album here, and make plans to see Cribshitter (along with Fambly Fun!) when it properly celebrates the release of this album Jan. 27 at the Dragonfly Lounge.
