Dancing Choose: Disco delirium

Decider plots steps for those who just want to dance

Dancing Choose

The Indie Queer folks are at it again with the 18th installment of their popular, monthly IQ Discotech dance party at the Cardinal Bar this Saturday, June 27. Expect a full slate of DJs who will tag team the ones and twos with fast-paced house and techno grooves that'll keep you spinning, shaking, and sweating. We're told that IQ Discotech's move from the Majestic Theatre to Cardinal Bar allows the 18- to 20-year-old crowd a chance to relish the revelry and “dance their faces off.” New DJs will also be delivering the beats. Discotech mainstays like Madison’s OCD Automatic and Milwaukee’s Diamonds will round out the late-night set, but you’ll also get some Chi-town club flavor via Rob Threezy and the two-man team of Black Holes, who kick off the night around 10 p.m. Expect a diverse crowd mixing and mingling over strong drinks and deep-bass beats. For attire, you'll see styles ranging from the über-trendy, to hip-hop, to heroin chic.

For: Club-music dance addicts, aficionados, and newbies who’ve got a fiver in their pockets, and their 18- to 20-year-old counterparts who can pull together the slightly higher cover charge of $8.
