Dave Eggers to speak Nov. 4 at Chazen Museum of Art
More Just Announced
While next week’s Wisconsin Book Festival ups the “cool author event in Madison” quotient by a factor of 534 percent (approximately) from what typically goes on the rest of the year, there are still pockets of awesomeness if you know where to look. One of these actually occurs a month after the fest is over, when postmodern literary idol Dave Eggers makes an appearance at the Chazen Museum of Art on Nov. 4. The popular author is the founder of McSweeney’s publishing house (as well as the quirky and always fun lit mag of the same name). Eggers’ most recent book is the Katrina-themed Zeitoun, though later this month he’ll be releasing The Wild Things, a companion novel to go along with the forthcoming Where The Wild Things Are movie.
Eggers will be speaking as part of the Humanities Without Boundaries lecture series sponsored by the Center for the Humanities, which is the same group that got everyone reading and talking about Michael Pollan last month.
