David Bazan to make a less-sneaky return in October

While David Bazan fans nursed themselves along on his 2006 solo EP, Fewer Moving Parts, the former Pedro The Lion leader quietly toured houses across America earlier this year, not wanting to attract too much attention before he had an album ready. Well, his first solo full-length, Curse Your Branches, is now a bit closer to its Sept. 1 release (preorders via the Barsuk Records website can stream the album now), so Bazan and band are going a bit more public with a proper tour that will hit the High Noon Saloon on Oct. 27. (This announcement came mere hours after another eccentric, divisive, and yet beloved singer-songwriter project, The Mountain Goats, announced a Madison show. Weird, yet apt.) He'll be getting support from labelmate Say Hi, a.k.a. songwriter Eric Elbogen, who's increasingly outgrown things like writing lyrics about vampires (and his former band name, Say Hi To Your Mom) in his reliably sweet and catchy tunes. Anyway, here's Bazan playing the title track of his new disc in 2007:
