Daytrotter brings "Barnstorming" tour to downtown Madison attic
The folks at Daytrotter labor to share their appreciation of lesser-known bands from a humble Midwestern home base (Rock Island, Ill., to be specific), something we here at Decider can appreciate. They're not too full of their indie-rockin' selves to remember the flyover country they came from, either. In fact, some of the bands that have visited Daytrotter's studio to record exclusive sessions will be heading on a "Barnstorming" tour in which they'll play mostly actual barns in Iowa. But as part of the tour, Local Natives, Catfish Haven, Snowblink, and Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin will head to Madison on Monday, July 27 to play in an attic at 212 S. Henry St. at 6 p.m. The show's free, but it's usually customary to make a small donation to the bands at such affairs. A press release invites fans to "caravan" along with the five-day tour, so here's the schedule if you're into that kind of thing. We're gonna go practice drawing the bands with hearts flying out of their mouths and stuff.
