A lot can be said about the virtues of true musicianship and the traditional art of spinning records, especially when the two come together beautifully. But nobody was talking about any of that shit when Deadmau5 played the Alliant Energy Center on Tuesday, even though he’s pretty up-front about being more of a computer programmer than a DJ. Nope, from his climb to the top of his towering DJ booth, to his maniacal dance in a ghost sheet, to the last beat of the night, the producer completely captivated the crowd with his hypnotic sway, absolutely fantastic lighting rig, and eerie mouse helmet.
