Demetri Martin at the Barrymore Theatre
Keeping in line with his unembellished bio, comedian Demetri Martin named his upcoming winter tour “Telling Jokes In Cold Places.” But for a man who describes himself as “a person” with “brown hair,” Martin presents a deceptively complex stage show that combines stand-up, music, art, and scholarly presentation with his deadpan humor. The host of the former Comedy Central series Important Things With Demetri Martin will take a break from writing books (2011’s This Is A Book) and acting (2009’s Taking Woodstock, 2011’s Contagion) to stop by the Barrymore Theatre Feb. 10 with his big pad of paper. It will be cold outside and he will tell jokes.
