National High Five Day (the third Thursday of every April) has passed, but the lessons and blessings it tosses out hopefully have not. Of course, the celebratory hand gesture deserves its own day, but there’s no reason not to keep going up top, possibly missing down low (due to being too slow), and even doubling up for a “high 10” all year round. And when Fang Island—a band that describes its monumental guitar pop as “everyone high-fiving everyone”—sails into the Terrace on Aug. 14, you better believe The A.V. Club will be there, high-fiving everyone in sight. Come on Madison, let’s show these guys what we’re made of, and let the sounds of our hands slapping echo throughout the city.
